Please have students finish their translation of Morocco’s speech on their chart paper.
Please have students write a diary entry/reflection from either Jessica’s or Launcelot’s perspective on running away together. They should include a rationale for leaving. They should include any predictions they have for those characters.
Please have students get into small groups and read Act II, Scene ix and Act III, Scene i of The Merchant of Venice. Students are to work on translating this passage into modern text/teen slang and prepare a reenactment to be performed tomorrow. Please also give them 20 minutes to work on their questions. This is an independent task and should be completed in silence.
