In small groups (2-3) Works studied; Short Stories: Eveline, A Rose for Emily, Identities, Going to the Moon Major Works: The Bell Jar, Hamlet, Antigone, The Glass Menagerie Film Study: A Streetcar Named Desire If you had to create 5 THEMES for this semester, what would they be? Collect support from as many works studied as you can manage. When done, begin summary: Main characters Themes Symbols Wed. 20th - Thurs. 21st You will be given your culminating essay topics and have the next two days to prep. Friday, 22nd - In-class culminating essay writing Please note that you will not be given extra time unless you have an IEP You will also be expected to write your essay and not type it (unless you have an IEP) These are standard expectations across all 4U classes and not specific to this one. Mon. 25th - Wed. 27th - Exam Review Monday we will review the exam format and what is required for your passage close reading. In pairs or groups of three, brainstorm ideas around major themes, symbols, and literary devices. NOTE: Any assignments owing must be submitted by WEDNESDAY!
